Mungo’s ethos & the benefits of vegan food

Mungo’s Kitchen motto is ‘LOVE FOOD – LOVE LIFE’

This is because we love to eat delicious food without any of the bad bits, food that makes us feel good, and food that doesn’t take any lives.

Our food is healthy, plant based,
organic and Eco-friendly.

We don’t use any additives in our food, such as: preservatives, artificial sweeteners, colourings, flavourings and enhancers – all of which have been shown to contribute to hyperactivity in pre-school children, and concentration difficulties in adults.

Our entire menu is gluten-free and a gluten-free diet can provide many health benefits, especially for those with coeliac disease. It may help ease digestive symptoms, reduce chronic inflammation, boost energy and promote weight loss.

Eating a plant-based diet improves the health of your gut so you are better able to absorb the nutrients from food that support your immune system and reduce inflammation.

Research suggests that people who eat primarily plant based diets tend to have a lower body mass index (BMI) and lower rates of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease than those who eat meat.

Eating animal products supports the abuse, torture, and death that thousands of animals suffer from every day.

Organic farming avoids the use of chemicals – these are added to the non-organic production cycle for a number of reasons, but none of these actually benefit the consumer in terms of creating more nutritious, or even tasty, food.

Food grown and processed organically has higher nutritional value, which can be seen to promote good health.

The majority of our menu is already 100% organic and we’re looking to become organic certified in the near future.

All of our packaging is compostable, even the smoothie cups, straws and stickers! It’s made from sugar cane pulp so they can go straight into the food waste bin to be composted.

We’ve carefully picked the most eco-friendly suppliers who use a minimal amount of packaging and source products from as locally as possible.

Buying organic prevents chemicals from being used to grow the crops, chemicals that are damaging our ecosystem.
